Dear Community Outreach Members,
As you know, we are participating in the Backpack Project for Denton County Friends of the Family.
They provide backpacks filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year to children impacted by domestic violence or sexual abuse. Community Outreach, with Women's Club help, is hoping to provide 175 backpacks this year, as the need is great.
We have a ways to go. We will be promoting this at the June luncheon but we encourage you, as Community Outreach members, to get involved! If you are already filling a backpack, thank you!
Otherwise, you can purchase and fill your own backpack or stop by the clubhouse from 9-11am on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from June 3 through June 14 and buy a backpack for $5. You can purchase school supplies on your own for "Pre-K through 5th Grade" or "Middle/High School". The supply list for the age category is attached to the backpack and both lists are attached below. Donations to buy school supplies are also appreciated.
Filled backpacks can be dropped off at the Clubhouse parking lot on June 27 from 9-11am.
If you have questions, please contact Sherry Eason at 225-773-5431 or Lisa Jones 505-259-5425.
We appreciate everything that you do for our charities.
Thank you!
